LHS hockey girls shine at Voortrekker Sports Day

The first netball team had a good day, reaching the semi-finals of their competition

Ladysmith High School (LHS) took part in the annual Voortrekker Sports Day in Pietermaritzburg on Saturday, on March 15.

The first rugby team won their fixture against Durban North College, scoring three tries. The LHS U/14 team drew and the U/15 team beat Voortrekker High School, while the U/16 team narrowly lost to Empangeni High School.

The first netball team had a good day, reaching the semi-finals of their competition. In the process, LHS beat Durban North and Sarel Cilliers, and drew their match with Kuswag.

The LHS girls’ hockey team did the school proud by being crowned winners of the girls’ hockey tournament. After beating Kuswag, Wartburg and Sarel Cilliers, and drawing with Voortrekker High School’s second team in their pool matches, LHS beat Dundee High School 1-0 in the final match. Well done!
