EHS hosts swimming gala

The atmosphere was vibrant and cheery throughout the entire day

The sky miraculously cleared on Wednesday, March 12 in harmony with the first official Estcourt High School Swimming Gala, since the repair of the pool in 2011.
The school was divided into four houses, namely Dophins, Seals, Sharks and Whales.
The gala commenced at 11.30am with everyone in high spirits!
The atmosphere was vibrant and cheery throughout the entire day.
The opening was an apple race, the finale being a Boys 50m Open Freestyle, which “separated the boys from the men,” in the words of Mrs Mzinyane the organiser.
The Seals may have won the 50m open but the Dolphins won the Cup.
They took an early lead, dominating the relay, open water and other races, with the Seals hot on their heels followed by the Sharks and lastly the Whales.
Other highlights of the day were an educators freestyle race along with a spectacular diving show, followed by a cheer-off from each team.
Well done to the Estcourt High School swimmers.
