Dundee High takes on the mudman

It was a fun experience for all involved, and great for building school spirit!

The fun has just begun! Multisport athletes travelled to Hermannsburg School on Saturday, February 1 for the start of the exciting Aquellé Mudman Series.
Well done to Justin Dekker for completing his first full individual event. Soéne Kolesky, David Jacobs, Stephen Ferreira and Caitlyn Mitchell all completed the half-individual events. DHS hopes that all their multisport athletes will continue to get stronger as the series progresses. Congratulations also to the learners and staff who participated in teams: Simba Chawanda, Fergus Donaldson, Jonathan Benjamin, Dewald Wait, Janco Kotze, Luske Kritzinger, Jehan Ebrahim, Terry-Lee Honiball, Anje Thom, Heidi Wichmann, Chanel Botes, Miss Honiball and Miss Bijker. It was a fun experience for all involved, and great for building school spirit!
Thank you to Mrs Carter for her organisation and spirited encouragement, and a huge thank you to Mr Wessels for driving the bus and enduring the singing. A reminder that the Epworth Mudman will be taking place on March 2, so start training!
Midmar Mile
Anyone who has ever taken part in the Midmar Mile may have pondered the following question: Why would I swim across an overfull dam, bumping, kicking, and gasping for breath like a little sardine fighting for survival amongst hundreds – no thousands – of other sardines? Well, to get to the other side of course! (It also helped that Chad le Clos and Ryk Neetling were waiting at the finish!) Congratulations to the following DHS learners who completed the Midmar Mile: Jehan Ebrahim, Vanesse Burns, Erika Prinsloo and Dewald Wait. Congratulations also to the following staff members who did DHS proud: Mrs Venter, Mrs Carter and Miss Bijker. A big thank you to Economics of Glencoe for sponsoring a beautiful sport gazebo for DHS to use at all their sporting events.
