Golden Carp take fishing competition top prizes
50 carp were caught on the day
On behalf of Umtshezi Angling Club (UAC), a resounding thank you to all our sponsors for coming on board for our March 2023 Carp Competition held on Sunday (March 12).
Without you, as sponsors, the club would not have achieved its goal to host a great day’s fishing. To every angler, both young and old, who came out from far and wide to support our event, a huge thank you.
The turnout shows that Umtshezi Angling Club is a force to be reckoned with and that people are ready to fish at our events.
An amazing number of 50 carp in total were caught on the day. We are proud to say that Wagendrift Dam has a good amount of fish.
First place went to Mukesh Pauchcowdi with a monster 2.030kg Golden Carp, winning him R2000.
Second place went to Shehzaad Kader with a massive 1.955kg Golden Carp, winning him R500.
Mukesh also took third place with his 1.850kg Golden Carp, winning him a further R250.
All anglers were entered into a lucky ticket draw and walked away with some absolutely awesome prizes.
To the committee and club members, thank you for everything each and every one of you did in the build-up to competition day.
Finally and last but not least, to Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife (Wagendrift Dam), Amanda and her team, thank you for making sure all preparations for the day’s event were done.
