Diving into the Wagendrift Challenge
Dozens of people were part of the annual Wagendrift Challenge
A clear summer’s day welcomed locals and visitors to the Wagendrift Challenge on February 5.
This is a much-anticipated annual sporting event that is hosted by Round Table Estcourt 74. Wagendrift Dam provides a picturesque backdrop for the trail run, MTB ride, as well as the triathlon and biathlon.
Dozens of people entered this year’s challenge, from independent participants to teams.
The events, this year, included a 20km trail run; 20km MTB ride; a biathlon with a 1km swim and 5km run; and the triathlon with a 1km swim, 10km MTB ride and 5km run.
Participants dived into the events with enthusiasm, cheered on by the spectators.
