Last Saturday (April 23), the Newcastle Boschpick Highlanders and the Flying Eagles battled it out on the rugby pitch.

According to Highlanders Coach, Andre Swanepoel, the local side led 28 – 12 at halftime despite a ‘sloppy’ 40 minutes.

Swanepoel said the Highlanders regained composure after the break and went on to win convincingly. The final score was 64 – 24.

He commended the Flying Eagles team for agreeing to play at short notice. Swanepoel said Highlanders were in desperate need of game time, with both leagues kicking off on May 7.
