Bester and Jonck explained what a first-time player would need to begin with squash: equipment – sport shoes with non-marking soles and an entry level squash racquet; skills – a basic ball sense.

“In our doubles league, we pair stronger players with less skilled players and we often end up with amateurs picking up their game dramatically. This helps in place of active coaching.”
