Ashmira Pather is no stranger to making sporting headlines.
A cricketer who loves watching football, the Covid-19 pandemic put a bit of a halt to her love of sports but conversely gave her a chance to focus on her fishing.

“I love fishing because the atmosphere is relaxing and peaceful, and you can just enjoy being outdoors, plus I get to spend time with friends and family.” With lockdown now easing, Ashmira has been out to Chelmsford Dam twice with boyfriend, Shervive (who, ironically is a hard core Manchester United fan) and has been successful in landing a few big fish.
A proud Liverpool fan as well, Ashmira couldn’t resist wearing her beanie during her last fishing trip to celebrate the team winning the Premier League title.
