Get creative with home-style cricket

Cricket enthusiasts are encouraged to show their creativity and share their KFC Mini Cricket moments on social media by tagging @KFCSA and using #minicricket to stand a chance to win epic hampers

Lockdown has taken its toll on all sporting codes, whether at professional, club or school level.
Cricket is normally a sport that can be played right through the year, but not during lockdown of course.
However, KFC Mini Cricket South Africa has launched a challenge to all young players to substitute household items for traditional cricket gear. You can use a rolling pin instead of a bat, socks instead of balls, and washing baskets instead of wickets. This initiative was born to keep the passion for cricket alive under lockdown.
Josh Hendricks and his dad, Protea player Beuran Hendricks, have led the way when it comes to finding innovative ways to play their favourite game while under lockdown.
Several professional players are sharing their mini cricket moments with South Africa while under national lockdown. This initiative is aimed at keeping children active as a means of helping them develop, as it forms part of learning and skills development. This will help them navigate through everyday life, keep their energies up and give them an environment to improve other skills.
Cricket enthusiasts are encouraged to show their creativity and share their KFC Mini Cricket moments on social media by tagging @KFCSA and using #minicricket to stand a chance to win epic hampers. There is no reason to feel discouraged while staying at home, or for lockdown to interfere with your love of cricket.
There are plenty of opportunities to keep fit, stay active and work on your technique with this mini cricket challenge.
