Vryheid Cricket Club had a bumper weekend of local match-ups, with Wicket Wasps taking on PPC and Gladiators facing Mondlo.
The clash between Wasps and PCC was a T20 thriller.
Wasps posted a total of 142, thanks to a top score by C High, and bowled PPC out for just 57 runs.
A Voster was the pick of the bowlers with four wickets for eight runs. Gladiators and Mondlo squared off in a 50 over match, with the Gladiators posting 150 runs thanks to a contribution of 35 by T Aitken. C Aitken took five wickets in his spell, ensuring Gladiators a 119-run victory. This weekend will see Aitken Cup matches on Saturday and a Zululand match on Sunday – spectators are welcome.
