The local club fixtures took a break over the weekend. Nonetheless, a lot of cricket was played during the weekend, with both the Zululand A and B sides taking to the field. Zululand took on Dundee in a must win match, with both teams sitting at the top of the log. It was a low-scoring affair, but came to a nail-biting end. Zululand unfortunately lost the match by one wicket. Zululand B then took on Pongola, with G Haywood (90) and J Kruger (72) both shining with the bat. The district side posted a total of 257 and bowled Pongola out for 131. The local league will resume this coming weekend.
