Racers take on the muddy MTB trail

Race organisers said it was the muddiest race in the last 10 years.
Times were slower for all the riders who took part in the Barberton XCM MTB Challenge 2020, which took place near the Mpumalanga town on Saturday.
Sandra Haywood came first in her age category and fifth overall. Hannes van Staden and Vlam de Beer came in first of the Vryheid riders, doing well despite several technical problems.
Hannes still had time to enjoy a beer at a water point.
Jabu however had to turn back due to the mud.
