Zululand cricket team handed its first defeat of the season

The local side won the toss and elected to send NDCU in to bat

Zululand travelled to Ladysmith recently for its first away match of the season. Zululand was undefeated up until this point.
The local side won the toss and elected to send NDCU in to bat, on a track which wasn’t suited for batting. Clifford Dougherty was the standout bowler for Zululand, recording figures of 5/50. NDCU managed to post 134 runs in its allotted overs. In reply, Zululand battled with the terrible batting conditions and made only 116 runs, falling 16 short of the winning total and marking its first loss thus far. The Vryheid Cricket Club looks forward to this weekend’s fixtures and hopes for support from local fans.
