Runners aim for the finish line at the Ronnie Davel 16km race

Local runners push on in hot and humid conditions recently

A group of Estcourt runners travelled to Hilton on Sunday to take part in the Ronnie Davel 16km race.

The weather was hot and humid, but the athletes braved the conditions and pushed on to the finish line.  Steph Wortmann led the team home in an outstanding time of 1:31.

She will be running her first Comrades Marathon this year and her running mates wish her well with her training.
Phillipa Wortmann ran her first 16km race, so well done to her!

Results: Steph Wortmann – 1:31; Leeanne van der Westhuizen – 1:54; Phillipa Wortmann – 2:08; Belinda Smith – 2:08; Eric Walton – 2.08.
