Oval Track racers call it a day

"Our club hosted the WOMZA South African Dirt Nationals in October and was an amazing opportunity for us..."

On Sunday (December 14), the Newcastle Motorsport Club hosted a ‘Lunch and Lawn’ event, in celebration of club members who have excelled during 2019.

As the theme of the event and prize- giving was vintage cars, a build-your-own-burger and milkshake station were also made available to prize winners.

The venue was decorated with various items and pictures highlighting the love of the sport.

“This year was a very special one for us indeed. Our club hosted the WOMZA South African Dirt Nationals in October and was an amazing opportunity for us to show other clubs what Newcastle has to offer. Many of our drivers did extremely well over the course of the year,” said Zaakira Khan, event coordinator and Newcastle Motorsport Club racer.

Prizes were awarded to drivers who accumulated the highest points throughout the year in the various categories: go-karts, stock rods, 1660 modifieds, hot rods and more, plus other individual prizes such as Most Improved Driver.
