Darts association sees ‘tremendous growth’

The Umtshezi Darts Association held its prize-giving and year-end ceremony recently

Trophies and medals were issued at the Umtshezi Darts Association annual prize-giving and year-end ceremony on Saturday.

Players were joined by family and friends, who cheered them on as they were rewarded for their achievements.

This much-anticipated evening saw players swap their team uniform for crisp black and white formal wear.

Female winners Natasha Mungru, Jenny Sukai, Nelosha and Meena Ramsaran.

Special awards were also received, followed by a raffle draw for a microwave, kindly sponsored by Mr Kevin from Pietermaritzburg.

A Division winners Viren Mungru, Hemraj Jhekarran and Rajen Goodoon.

After giving a recap of the year’s achievements, association captain Hemraj Jhekarran said that darts has grown tremendously during the year.

B Division winners Pradeep Ramsaran, Roshan Boros and Praveen Ramparsad.

It was not all about the darts players though; the association also recognised the efforts made all year round by mothers and wives to prepare the team for competitions, mainly making meals.

And speaking of meals, the night ended with a scrumptious supper and socialising.
