Rigardt Albertse clinches Dundee Open

On a cloudy and cool day with intermittent sunshine, Rigardt carded a best gross score of 140.

Rigardt Albertse kept the flag flying for Dundee Golf Club’s burgeoning numbers of young guns, by winning the Charlies Superspar Dundee Open, played over 36 holes on Sunday.

Rigardt carded a best gross of 140. The day was cloudy and cool with intermittent sunshine, ideal for top golf.

Elvis Sithebe was second on 150 while another youngster, Danté Ceronio carded the best nett of 138 to win the A Division. In the B Division, the best gross was carded by Melusi Sithole on 160, while the best nett in the B Division was Cyril Mkhwanazi on 139 and runner-up Sibusiso Sithole ended on 146.

The Men’s C winner was Hoosen Ayob on 68 points, with Hamith Grierson second on 59 points counted out from F Rajah. Winners in the female division were Veronica Donaldson (71) and Hlengiwe Hlongwane on 62.

The club thanked Charlies Superspar for the generous sponsorship.

Monthly Mug: The club thanks all who played in the Monthly Mug, in the form of an Individual Medal. Mug winners were: A Division – Cyril Mkhwanazi on 70 nett; B Division – R van Rensburg Jnr on 71 nett.

The Ladies Mug went to Debbie Catlett on 71 in the B Division and Hlengiwe Hlongwane in the C Division. Rigardt Albertse carded the best gross score with 71 and there were six two clubs carded.

Dave’s competition: The competition played on Wednesday (December 4) over 11 holes in the form of an IPS, was won by Cyril Mkhwanazi on 24 points, ahead of S Ndlovu on 24 points and Dan Scholtz on 20 points.

Chicken Run: The competition played on Friday (December 6) in the form of an IPS was won by Mark Klusener on 23 points, counted out from Danté Ceronio and D Scholtz.

Upcoming days:

The Dave’s Competition that will be played on Wednesday will be played in the form of an IPS.
The Endumeni Mayoral Golf Day will be played this Saturday (December 14) in the form of an IPS.
