Clayton reels in the big ‘un on Cape Vidal tour

Well done to Clayton on his catch!

Submitted by Vryheid Ski Boat Club
On November 7, Clayton Comins and a friend went on a fishing expedition to Cape Vidal.
They described the weather as perfect, which helped Clayton become entangled in an hour-long fight with a 40 kilogram sailfish, which he eventually reeled in with live mackerel as bait.
The sailfish, of the genus Istiophorus of billfish, is usually found in colder seawater.
These fish are predominantly blue to grey in colour and have a characteristic dorsal fin, known as a sail, which often stretches the entire length of the back.
Well done to Clayton on his catch!
