Male and female bowling pairs champs decided

Mother Nature had other ideas, as the heavens opened just before the first Sunday morning game was completed.

Club Pairs: The Dundee Bowling Club Pairs Tournament was played this past weekend. A total of six men’s and four women’s teams entered the competition.

The women played out on the Saturday, with Sylvia Malan and Dora Joubert victorious after the day’s play. The men played in a round robin format, with three games played on Saturday and two games on Sunday. Mother Nature had other ideas however, as the heavens opened just before the first Sunday morning game was completed, bringing play to an abrupt halt.

Competition secretary, Jacques called the end of the weekend’s play, tallied the scores and announced Desmond Johnson and Gregory Conolly as the overall winners of 2019, not losing a single game throughout the week. Congratulations to Sylvia and Dora, and Des and Greg on their achievements!

Mortimer Toyota Business League: The opening round of the inaugural Mortimer Toyota Business League was played this past Thursday evening. Mother Nature also had her say, with the start of play having to be delayed due to lighting. However, both games were completed.

The leader board is as follows: Sharks (4 +28), BB Transport (4 +25), NEMS (4 +10) and Becomes (4+8). Please remember – play starts at 6pm this coming Thursday and food will be on sale. Come down to the club and enjoy an evening out.

Upcoming events:
November 14 – Mortimer Toyota Business League continues
November 30 – Pro Nobis Day
