Zwakele brings home the gold and silver

A local karateka from the Newcastle JKA Dojo competed for KwaZulu-Natal in this all-styles event.

The 29th SAPS Martial Arts National Championship was held in Potchefstroom at the North West University recently.

According to Sensei Johan Swart of NKZN JKA, the championship included the nine provinces, consisting of 134 participants, and contained the martial arts disciplines of karate, judo and kick-boxing and was hosted by the NW South African Police Service.

“A local karateka from the Newcastle JKA Dojo, Zwakele Zuma competed for KwaZulu-Natal in this all-styles event, and achieved gold in kata and silver in kumite.”
