Bodybuilder claims IFBB World Title

The competition was held at Vodaworld in Johannesburg on September 7.

Newcastle-born bodybuilder, Bonginkosi Zulu (30) flexed with the best at the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB) World Cup.

The competition was held at Vodaworld in Johannesburg on September 7.

With over 23 countries participating, Zulu took the ‘World Title’ in the Mr Fitness Model competition. He was also selected to represent South Africa in Slovenia, Central Europe, earlier this month.

Zulu is no stranger to excellence, as he previously raised the South African flag high in representing his country at the World Fitness Federation (WFF) Universe Championships in South Korea on June 22 and 23 this year, competing against 159 athletes from 39 countries.

He started bodybuilding in 2006 at Kloof Gold Mine and said he put his whole energy into the sport.

Zulu has a total of 30 trophies and 51 medals since he started bodybuilding, and his accolades include winning the Sports Model Fitness in the Pretoria Classic competition on May 25 this year.

He has encouraged the youth to reach for their dreams and work hard in anything they pursue.
