This is the biggest inter-schools meeting in South Africa, with 28 schools, as well as varsity and club teams taking part.

On the Saturday, over 1000 athletes participated, comprising the cream of the crop. Some track events had three to four heats, which means between 24 and 32 participants.

To be placed in the top eight is remarkable. This meeting is like an unofficial SA Champs.

Here are Treverton’s top achievers:
Girls
Saskia Renzi (U/14 100m) – second in heat 3.
Gemma Hickenbotham – sixth in discus and javelin U/17.
Michaela Licen – sixth in 100m and 200m U/16.
Christin Minnaar – eighth in high jump U/15.

Boys
Caleb Jennings – sixth in 800m U14, still U/13, personal best (PB) of 2 minutes, 18,06 seconds.
Trent Freeman – eighth in discus U/15.
Kai Broom – fifth in 400m U/14 with a PB of 55.91, which is brilliant at altitude. This breaks the school record by two seconds.
The star of the day was Ryan Stockil, who achieved gold in the U/15 high jump with 1.90, the highest jump of all ages of the day.

These athletes are trained by Rianne Botha and Travis Pellew, both dedicated coaches at Treverton.
