A nice field participated in the annual Estcourt Hospice Association fund-raising golf day. An enjoyable evening, with prize-giving, took place in the pub, surrounded by plenty of snacks.

The winners on 49 points were M Ismail and H Ismail Jnr, second Gordon Smith and Warren Smith on 46 points, and third Paul Wagenaar and Ian Marx on 45 points. They were followed by Paddy Geraty and Fred Vickers on 43 points.
Every player in the field received a prize, with the novelty prizes going to: closest to the pin – Charl Scaanick, Elias Mageza, M Ismail and Cas Mather. The longest drive went to Yunus Manjoo.

Two-clubs were scored by Deejay and M Ismail. A chipping competition was held, with Viren Omardath remembering the last play-off when he lost by hitting the ball only two metres. This time, he made sure he beat Bruce Titlestad for first prize.

A successful auction was held, where various items were sold for good prices, all proceeds going to Hospice.  We need to thank everyone who was involved in organising the day, as well as the fantastic snacks, and a special thanks to Belinda Smith for organising the prizes.

A thank you to all the sponsors and the golfers who made it a special day.  On Wednesday, Rite Watch sponsored the Ledlie Hume farewell, which was also well attended, with a sheep on the spit and plenty of prizes provided by Richard and Aruna Drewett of Rite Watch.

Prizes were awarded to Sam Sewsunker and Mayur Baboolal, Harry Kooverjee, Bunn Hamman, Gail Boettiger and Elias Mageza. Closest to the pin went to Gordon Smith, Owen Mcluckie, Naveen Rajcoomar and Arnold Fortmann.

It’s always sad to lose a member, but we must say bon voyage to Ledlie Hume and we wish him everything of the best for the future. Looking forward to seeing you back here for your first visit.

The Pick ‘n Pay competition was won by Sondlo Mlotshwa. Good luck to the Tri Nation players and at home, a better-ball competition sponsored by the club.
