Golfers prepped for local Ryder Cup

The Ryder Cup will get underway on Saturday, and in the evening the club will supply all participants with supper.

Excitement is mounting for Dundee Golf Club’s own Ryder Cup, to be played this weekend. Opposing captains, Richard Catlett and Kevern Mattison are ready for the big day, and have spent the last few weeks facing up like Wrestlemania stars.

On Friday (July 26), the club will host a cocktail evening, when the names of the two sides will be drawn. All players are urged to attend. The Ryder Cup will get underway on Saturday (July 27), and in the evening the club will supply all participants with supper.

Saturday results: Saturday attracted 36 players, with 18 from the Albatros Club in Newcastle. J Rossouw won on 42 points, with M Louw second on 40 points, C Mkwanazi third on 38 points, and D Scholtz fourth on 37 points. Two clubs were carded by: P Booysen and H Booysen on Hole 12, D Scholts on Hole 4.

Upcoming fixtures: July 24 – Dave’s Wednesday Competition, August 7 – Club AGM.
