This amazing fundraising effort for this outreach project, run by the incredible Sister Maureen, was possible by all our sponsors that made this magnanimous contribution possible, and a very big thank you must go to them and to the Haribhai’s for making this tremendous effort in ascertaining these funds.

Great prizes were attained by George van Niekerk and a very successful golf day, which ended with a lovely dinner. Thanks to the golfers who made our day.

Golf was played in perfect weather, with the winners being Vino Harribhai, Sam Sewsunker, Shane Mothilal and Naveen Rajcoomar on 107. On 105, in second place, were Deejay Ramdhav, Ian Marx, Doc Chotu and Rajen Goodoon.

One point behind in third were Frank Bloy, Marcus Appenah, H De Laoruz and E Bonn. The longest drive went to Marcus Appenah, which in fact was a well-thought-out shot. Hitting it too long on number one, you could end up in the ditch. However, he hit it perfectly to win the prize.

Closest to the pin on number two was Deejay Ramdhav, who also made it closest at number 16. Lional Laatz was closest on number three. On Wednesday, Dave Diedrick and Doc Khuzwayo won on 42 points, while the Friday competition was won by Dave Diedrick on 16 points for only six holes.

Again, the club thanks all sponsors and requests that members support them. This Sunday, the Moth Club fund-raising golf day will be a four-ball alliance with a scramble drive.

The R200 entry includes supper and fantastic prizes. There will be a chipping competition where the winner will walk away with a big prize.
