Sentraal calls on fans for season finale

Sentraal plays its final match of the season against old rival, Vryheid, and believes fan support can turn the tide.

Rugby fans are urged to rally behind Sentraal, which plays Vryheid on Saturday, in the last game of what has been a tumultuous season.

With a change in coaching staff and other hiccups, the local team has not had it easy this year. Club chairman, Johann Coetzee believes however the foundation has been laid, to make a serious title challenge in 2020.

Former coaches, Boy Hesom and Dolf Kruger are back to guide the forwards and backs respectively. This, says Johann, has given the club a new spring in its step.

“I am very proud that Sentraal is made up of players representing all communities, with some even travelling from the Dannhauser area to attend practice sessions and play games.”

Vryheid, which hopes to bounce back after a home defeat against Volksrust at the weekend, will be looking to put one over its old rival. Johann believes that with the support of the home crowd though, Sentraal can affect a historic surprise win.

The match starts at 3pm at the Dundee High School Grounds, and all spectators and supporters are welcome.
