Sohail lives, dreams and plays cricket

Sohail began as an all-rounder but soon perfected his bowling skill and became a competent right-arm leg spinner.

For 23-year-old Sohail Mahmoud, playing cricket is not just a sport but a way of life.

His passion for the game began at the tender age of seven and he has been improving his cricketing skills ever since.

“My dad is an avid cricket fan. His love for the game was infectious and playing cricket became second nature to me,” he said.

He was selected to play in the KZN Inland Cricket Team in 2015, an dream he had aspired to as long as he could remember.

Sohail began as an all-rounder but soon perfected his bowling skill and became a competent right-arm leg spinner.

He admits playing cricket at provincial level requires commitment, dedication, discipline and hard work.

“As the KZN Inland Team, we go up against the best cricket players in the country. Competition is tough and the pressure is immense,” he added.
