The next competition of the APL will the AA Tours Grand Challenge

The final of the Transnat KO Competition, hosted by the Angling Professional League (APL) was held at Sandford in Zone D and E on March 10.
Defending Champions, Breakwaters were up against the formidable Ladysmith Angling Club.

The competition started with early queuing at the main gates, with the first vehicle of Ladysmith AC queuing as early as Friday morning. Such was the determination and zeal of Ladysmith to win the competition.

In the end, the Ladysmith AC was in rampant form and beat Breakwaters AC, 92 points to 47.
Congratulations to Ladysmith AC on being crowned as the “Transnat Knock Out Champions”.

Monty Slabbert, the Captain of Breakwaters AC, proved to be cut above the rest as he was awarded the ‘Angler of Day’ title scoring 14 points and earned the ‘red cap’, R200 and an outright trophy.

The next competition of the APL will the AA Tours Grand Challenge between the winner of the League (Breakwaters AC) and Ladysmith AC (Winner of the KO) on March 31 at Richgate Park. This should prove to be another tense duel as both teams have won a trophy already and will be battling for the last piece of silverware available.

This will be followed by the APL Closed Competition on April 14 at Sandford, were all registered members of the APL are eligible to participate and stand a chance to win many lucrative prizes on offer.  Further details will follow. This will mark the end of another successful season of the APL which was formed in June 2014.

The 2019/2020 will start on August 1 and promises to be another action packed season.
