Dr Sifiso takes golf Monthly Mug honours

Upcoming fixtures are Dave's Wednesday competition, March 6, Dundee Pre-Primary school Golf Day, March 16 and Flo-Tek sponsored Golf Day, March 23.

Thirty-eight players turned up to play Monthly Mug in the heat on Saturday, kindly sponsored by the President Louis Albertse of OK Foods.

It was great to see so many players participating again.

Winners on the day:

Best Gross went to Dr S’fiso Kunene, Mens A Division winner: Joe Khumalo. Mens B Division winner: Sthembiso Mkhaliphi.

Ladies B Division: Lorein De Wit, Ladies C Division: Naomi Van Huysteen.

Two clubs recorded for the day were Joe Khumalo and Humphrey Browning on number 16 and Richard Catlett on number 12.

Old friends were reunited at the Golf Club on Saturday when Hazel and Dennis Collett, previously of Dundee, popped in to greet Kelly Kelbrick and Frikkie van der Westhuizen. We understand many hockey anecdotes were re-told that night…

 

The Northern KZN High Schools League is up and running every Friday afternoon with many youngsters from Dundee, Vryheid, Newcastle and Ladysmith competing. The league is run by John Clarke, Sias Weyers and Mason Meyer and is a way of ensuring that golf continues to grow in the area.
