Youngsters get energetic on the tennis court

Matthew, who is a learner at Monument Primary School, is also making waves on the cricket pitch

Matthew Gerber and Karl Dedekind were seen having a good time playing tennis at Ladysmith Country Club recently. Dressed in shorts and T-shirts, the teens were ready to enjoy an energetic afternoon at the club.

It was all about keeping their eyes on the ball as they hit forehands, backhands, overhead lobs, volleys and smashes on their way to winning points, games and sets.

The weather was perfect and the youngsters took full advantage as they played their hearts out in good sportsmanship, albeit as hotly competitive as the summer heat.

Matthew, who is a learner at Monument Primary School, is also making waves on the cricket pitch.

Karl enjoys playing all kinds of sport, but says his favourite is tennis. He hopes to one day be a world-famous tennis player, and make his family and friends proud.

Matthew and Karl are looking forward to playing more matches soon, as they definitely have a passion for this sport that takes plenty of skill to master.

If you’re interested in playing bowls, golf or tennis, then contact or visit Ladysmith Country Club. The club is open over weekends for you to enjoy their facilities.
