Jacques and Taryn clinch mixed bowls pairs trophy

This past weekend the club hosted its annual mixed pairs competition. It was once again a wonderful turnout with a total of 12 teams entered.
On Sunday the competition was narrowed down to four teams to play the semi-finals, Dirk and Lesley against Carl and Hannelie and Rita and Phillip against Jacques and Taryn. The teams who went through to the final was Carl and Hannelie and Jacques and Taryn with the latter the eventual winners. It was a superb weekend and great thanks must go to Greg for a well organised weekend as well as those who supplied eats throughout the weekend.
Fedauto Bowls Business League
Rounds 3 and 4 of the Fedauto Bowls Business League was played last Thursday evening. It was a charming evening, however, there were some movers and shakers in the mix. The leaderboard is as follows:
Langfontein 6 + 24, No Name Brand 6 + 18, CPC 6 + 10 and Buffalo River Rats 6 – 1.
The club will be selling food again tomorrow evening however braai fires will be lit for those wanting to braai. The club looks forward to hosting everyone again.
Fun bowling afternoon
On Saturday, March 3, the Glendee Yacht Club will be hosting a fun bowling afternoon at 1pm at Dundee Bowling Club. Enter your team of 4 (1 registered bowler per team only) before March 1 – entrance fee R400 per team.
The theme for the day will be sailors, pirates and tarts with prizes for best dressed up for grabs. Braai fires will be lit after play with pap and sous and salads available at no extra cost. Contact Debbie on 082 491 3515 or Greg on 082 924 7788 for details.
The Northern Zone Mixed Pairs will be played in Vryheid this coming weekend.
