Bunn Hamman won the count out after scoring a career best 40 with two one pointers and a black out

The monthly Skaapdag sponsored by Graham Kippen and Richard Ford was well supported with 44 players in perfect weather conditions.

A number of visitors were welcomed and although the greens are improving after the spring-treatment the scores were pretty good with the winners Gordon Smith, Lional Laatz, Paddy Geraty and Fred Vickers on 105, walking off with enough meat for a month.

Second on 103 were Paul Wagenaar, George van Niekerk, Harry Koovarjee and Roy Ramkasoon, followed by Naveen Rajcoomar, Shane Mothilal, Viren Omardath and Rishi Goodram on 101 and on 100 were Luke Shiver, Melton Schiever, Dave Rudderham and George Walker.

Closest to the pin on number three went to Naveen. Two clubs to Doc Chotu and Raj Rajcoomar. The jackpot was won by Kamy, Raj, Moekie and Viren. The Friday competition was a four way tie on 24 points.

Bunn Hamman won the count out after scoring a career best 40 with two one pointers and a black out.  During a press interview after Saturday’s game, Bunn commented that his game was back to normal.

Golf is meant to be an enjoyable game but some golfers do not understand the etiquette of the game.  There is nothing more frustrating when playing golf behind players that are so slow that when they walk past, the hadidhas do not even notice.

A notice on the first tee-box states: ‘Your place in the field is behind the players in front of you and not in front of the players behind you’. This Saturday is the Mortimer Toyota Monthly Mug and Individual Stableford.

The Estcourt Open will be held on the weekend of November 17,18 and 19. Don’t forget the Estcourt Hospice Golf Day on October 21. Fantastic prizes to be won and snacks available.
