Andre gets schooled in coaching

Highlanders Head Coach, Andre Swanepoel continues to advance his coaching skills.

The experienced leader recently undertook a level three rugby course in Cape Town, and joined some of the top South African rugby coaches.

Mr Swanepoel said this course taught him attention to detail in coaching.

Learning more about the functional roles of each player, and how the roles changed in the modern game, Mr Swanepoel said it was now time to stop looking for excuses as an amateur coach.

“Another thing I will implement at the club, is to empower the players in the right way, and look at coaching the heart behind the jersey. A player is mind, body and heart, and it’s up to coaches to hone that.”
