Cracking bowls as pairs head for the Cape

An extremely successful weekend was held for the final qualification of the Spec Savers Pro10 bowls pairs to be held at Western Province Cricket Club in Cape Town in September.
This is one of the country’s top sponsored tournaments. The qualifiers are: first, Sid Price/Lou Roux, second Barry Mutlow/Ronell Greeff while third and fourth were Mike Lovell/Steve Oberholzer and Helga Kautz/Helene de Wet respectively.
It was great to see such a good Tabs-In turnout on Saturday afternoon, despite the Pro10 being played. All three greens being used and well supported by spectators.

Full marks to The Gaucabowly team who lead the pack with 12 points, followed closely by the Moths on 10 points. The fading Sharks and charging Biotech Lab follow, both on 8 points.
Lots of pool practice was had for the upcoming winter pool and darts league! The bowls are still looking for a R500 sponsor. Entries open this Thursday for the competition R120/team of four.

70th Friedmann Cup
This year, the Dundee Bowling Club marks the 70th Friedmann Bowling Cup to be held in November. The committee has decided to put up prize money of R70 000 and past president, John Davison, has made a special request to all our members to make a minimum contribution of R200 but no maximum to this cause. The third Sunday Fun Bowls will be postponed until Spring.
