Dundee golfers get professional with new Pro Shop

W Ackerman walked away with the prize for the longest drive on hole no.11 for the men, and Y Greyling took the ladies prize.

The official opening of The Pro Shop at Dundee Country Club on Saturday turned out a great success with over 70 golfers playing in the 4 Ball Alliance competition which saw a few exceptionally high scores being recorded. Winning the day on 110 points was the team of R Khan, S Khan, H Ayob and B Rasool. The second prize went to the team of J Zulu, S Mthembu, I Khumalo and S Nene on 107 points.
Finishing in third place, just one point behind, was M Mthethwa, C Chawanda, S Lamula and R Khumalo on 106 points. The novelty prize for Nearest the Pin on hole no.8 went to H Ayob, and K Roets won the prize for Nearest the Pin on hole no.16.

Dundee C.C. was fortunate enough to host the N. KZN league team on Sunday for their game against Mt. Edgecombe from Durban, with our venue proving very successful for the N. KZN team as they recorded a convincing win over their opponents by winning 11 ½ – ½ . The Monthly Mug Medal competition will be played on Saturday, and on Sunday they are expecting a full field of golfers to take part in the annual Oriental Golf Day which has always had great prizes on offer.
The annual Battlefields Golf Tournament is just a few weeks away, March 25 – 27, and the entry forms are available from The Pro Shop and players are urged to take advantage of the Early Bird Special Package deal. This Friday evening the club is inviting members, their family and friends to come and enjoy a scrumptious Bangers and Mash with a salad for only R40 per person.
