A very warm and successful weekend was held at Dundee Bowling Club,with players displaying some great bowling skills on two very hot days.
A Plate event, sponsored by Battlefields Sports Resort, was introduced to give players a second chance and it was great to see the greens full.
The winners were as follows:
Men’s Open Champion: Ron Howe, Newcastle BC, runner-up Douglas Steele, Newcastle BC.
Ladies Open Champion: Nan Roos Dundee BC, runner-up Samantha Shaw Newcastle BC. The Plate event was won by Noela Dreyer, Vryheid BC, runner-up Katy. Osborn Mahawani BC.
The Men’s Plate was shared by three section winners, Des Johnson Dundee BC, Trevor Moore Newcastle BC, and Abraham Louw Mahawane BC.
There was no T-Shirts 4 Afrika Business League due to the public holiday.
Heritage Day fun bowls was won by Hans Vreken with 53 points and Carl Arndt second with 51 points and Taryn Bierbaum won the Stone.
Members are reminded to try to get more advertising boards up around C Green.
