Championships dig in this weekend

The KZN Tent Pegging Championships will take place in Newcastle this weekend - don't miss out!

The provincial Tent Pegging Championships have returned to Newcastle.

This Saturday, August 29, the KwaZulu-Natal champs will bring teams from Harrismith, Normandien, Memel, Durban to the Show Grounds.

A visiting team from Bethlehem is also competing.

Organisers from KZN Equestrian Tent Pegging explained these championships will round off the 2014/2015 season, with the KZN team to be announced at a prize giving after the competition.

“Riders have been active all year in different provinces, taking part in tent pegging events. The KZN champs reveals who the best riders are, as they are selected for the KZN teams.”

Riders will be selected for the senior or open side, the under-18 squad and the under-14 team.

These teams will participate in inter-provincial events to come, as well as the South African Championships, in October for senior riders, and December for juniors.

Both these events take place in Cape Town.

“We wish our riders the very best of luck for the KZN champs, and we urge the public to watch, show their support and enjoy the day with us.”
