Sports equipment handed to teams at Imbabazane

About 15 teams received sports equipment for boys and girls

March 27 was a day to remember for most of the sports loving people in Loskop. Imbabazane Local Municipality hosted coaching clinics that were facilitated by the Department of Sports and Recreation. This event took place at the Tatane sports ground with various sporting codes being catered for. Young people in the area were encouraged to engage in sporting activities in order to live a healthy lifestyle. Again the municipality is heavily involved in a campaign of fighting the scourge of social ills that disorganises the youth nowadays.

This event was graced by the presence of the MEC for Social Development Weziwe Thusi, who did not arrive empty handed.
She brought with her food parcels for the community that fell victims to storm and heavy rainfalls earlier this year. About 250 beneficiaries were identified and received their packs. On the side of sporting gear, about 15 teams received sports equipment for boys and girls.

The Mayor Mrs PG Strydom handed over both netball and soccer kits to the team managers and captains. It was a special moment for most of the teams.

One of the teams called Celtic from ward 10 is one of the beneficiaries on the day and was so jubilant such that they used the same kit during their game that took place the following weekend. Special thanks to the Imbabazane Local Municipality for caring for the community on its jurisdiction.
