Last Saturday, April 4 the Lalparsad Inc Attorneys Monthly Mug combined with the Ind Stab competitions were played. Messrs Cobbinnah, Du Plessis, Rudderham, Rogers and Moxley were welcome visitors.
Winner of the Mug with a nett 68 was Fred Vickers. Second place went to Arnold Boettiger with a nett 69 and third was Bruce le Roux with a nett 70. In the Ind Stab comp the winner was Carl Du Plessis with 43 points who also has the honour of being the son-in-law of Martin.
In second place with 40 points was Fred and then a 39 point countout placed Arnold third and Melton Schiever fourth. Closest to the pin on two after two shots for the Gerry Motors trophy was Lional Laatz. Closest on number three off the tee was Gail Boettiger.
Gail missed her two club but compensated by winning the draw later in the pub. Two clubs went to Dave Rudderham on number seven and Hansie Moolman on number 12. The jackpot was shared by Dave and Frank Ashe on nine points. The Wednesday comp was won by Gordon Chotu and Deejay Ramdhav and the Friday nine hole comp by Moekie Ghasitha.
On Saturday and Sunday, May 2 and 3 will be the Club Championships. All golfing members are encouraged to enter this closed tournament kindly sponsored once again by Mortimer Toyota. All the details have been posted on the club notice board. This is an annual event that should not be missed!
