Burnt End

Inter-District bowlers have all returned home after a week of intensive bowling at respective venues throughout the country. The KwaZulu-Natal County Bowls (KZNCB) teams held their own against the other provinces, with the majority of the teams finishing in the top half of their sections, which is an excellent achievement for this small district.

On the home front, a couple of tabs in competitions have been played recently. In the monthly Fedauto meat competition, the main prize was won by the team of Frans Schoon, Anne Wood, Graham Robinson and Japie Dantuma (eight + four). In second place and winning chickens were Gordon Dowsett, Graham Massey and Colin Broderick (eight + three).

The Human Rights Day allowed the likes of John Douthwaite, Ryk Pepler and Sue Hutchinson to walk away as the winners.

The Fedauto Business League draws to a close this Thursday, with the finals being played between the two sections.

Top of the respective logs are :

Section 1 : Putt Putts, Dozy Dudes, Vicky’s Vixens, Brickies and 4 Q’s

Section 2 : Eschem, Pensioners, Beach Bums, Melo’s and Toppies & Laaties.

All teams will be playing in what promises to be another excellent evening of good bowls and lots of fun.
