Marlins swimmers impress at galas

Congratulations to ALL our swimmers for making Ladysmith Marlins proud

During the weekend of November 28 to 30, six Ladysmith Marlins Swimming Club swimmers travelled to Durban for the Westville Sprints at Kings Park. All the swimmers improved on their times – well done!

Then, during the weekend of December 6 and 7, Ladysmith Marlins Swimming Club took part in the Long Course Championships at the Ladysmith municipal pool.

Other clubs that took part were: Aquafin SC (Ladysmith), Pongola SA, Newcastle SC, Vryheid SC, Dundee SC, Fish Eagle SC (Richards Bay) and Piet Retief SC. The swimmers had tough competition in their events and Ladysmith Marlins Swimming Club came first in this championship. JJ van der Hoogen received the Victor Ludorum for top male swimmer.

Congratulations to ALL our swimmers for making Ladysmith Marlins proud.

A big thank you to the parents who assisted to make this gala a huge success. Without you – as coaches, committee, parents and other family members – we would not be able to do this. Ivan and Denise, enjoy the week you will be on holiday.

All of you who will be travelling, we wish you a safe journey.

Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year to our swimming family! Our next age group gala will be this Saturday in Newcastle and Open Water on January 4 at Albert Falls.
