Big fish and winners at angling competition

Anglers still catch big despite the wet weather.

The Riverside Angling Club hosted a huge overnight fishing competition at Chelmsford Dam on November 1 and 2.
Despite the bad weather there was a good turnout at the dam.
Anglers had to fish hard in the rainy weather, which they did, producing a lot of fish at the weigh-in. Zishaan Mohamed won the heaviest carp category with a catch weighing in at 3,52kg.

A Ramnarine finished second, with a carp weighing 3,36kg.
In the heaviest barbel category Vishal Dhooki took first place with a catch weighing in at 5,68kg.
Liaquat Ahmed finished second with a barbel weighing 4,81kg, while Inaayat took third place with his catch weighing 4,335kg.
The chairman was grateful and thanked all those who attended the competition.
Special thanks go out to all the generous sponsors – without them the competition would have not been a success. A big thank-you to all the club members and non-club members who spent their days and nights working hard towards the competition.
