Six local wrestlers represented Team KZN at the Wrestling National Championships held in Pretoria from October 11 to 12. KZN won five gold medals, of which three gold medals were won by local wrestlers. Wrestlers competed in freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling.
Willem Husselman became the fifty-third national champion produced by the Northern Natal Rhino Club. Willem wrestled like a true champion, and not only won a gold in the Greco-Roman style but topped it off on the Saturday with a gold medal in the freestyle division, becoming the sixth double SA champion from Glencoe.

Bafana Olwethu: freestyle – eighth.
