Business League getting hot!

After four rounds the positions of the Harcourts Business League is as follows: First Willie Nel’s KZN Debt Counsellors with a good lead of 8+26, second Michael Cherry’s NEMS with 6+20, and third Danie von Molendorff’s LRA with 6+12. Tewie’s Eventide team and Braam’s Botes Blocks are close on their heels. Played on floodlight greens and under great weather conditions, this was followed by a braai and lots of socialising.
The Northerns KZNCB Senior Singles was played in Vryheid, and men’s champion was John Douthwaite; runner-up Billy Nicholas; ladies’ champion Lorraine Vincent; ladies’ runner-up Dalene Louw. Dougie Slabbert won his section, but was beaten by John in playoff.
The Northerns KZNCB Open Singles will be played in Newcastle from October 18 to 19 – enter on the notice board. 
The very popular Friedmann Cup and Douthwaite Memorial Cup tournament is fully subscribed, with 36 teams entered! There will be 144 players from around KZN, other provinces and Swaziland participating, plus their supporters and our sponsors. 
Teams can enter their names on standby in case of a late withdrawal. 
The Dundee Bowling Club is a great venue for functions or parties, and is fully-licensed. Contact Sylvia on 081 046 8140 or Nan on 082 446 9916 for information. Anyone interested in playing bowls can call in at the club on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays – all welcome. Come support the Harcourts Business League on Thursday evenings from 5:30pm onwards.
