Get revved-up – it’s time for the 7th Annual Blackrock Car Show.
Car enthusiasts can look forward to a thrilling day of revving engines, exhilarating sound and hundreds of cars to feast their eyes on at the 7th Annual Blackrock Casino Car Show on Saturday the 30th of August 2014. Hosted in conjunction with Supersonic, this year’s show will feature a Sound off Competition, and a Show ‘n Shine Competition – giving car-owners a chance to show off their vehicle modifications.
As always, it is a family-friendly event with loads of other activities including a Crossfit Challenge, Arm Wrestling, spinning and a Kids Zone. The main attraction is the drifting which is a first in Newcastle. It all unfolds in the Blackrock Casino parking lot from 10am. Entrance fees are R40 per adult and R20 per child under 13 years.
Car enthusiasts are called to enter their prides and joy in the Sound and Show ‘n Shine competitions. The cost to enter is R150 per car, per category. Registrations for the competition are open 9am to 3pm, with the prize-giving taking place at 7pm in the Casino’s Conference Centre. Due to the spin area and drift track, limited car entries will be received for the sound off and Show ‘n Shine competition.
“We are excited to announce the date of our 7th annual Car Show. One of the most well-supported community events on our entertainment calendar, it attracts hundreds of visitors who come to see pimped-up cars and hear the thump of truly magnificent sound systems. It is a great outdoor event for the whole family. This year, we’ve added a special Kids Zone where all the children’s activities will be hosted, and there will be music throughout the day, with DJs on the decks and dancers,” said events coordinator, Rebecca Rachabane.
