Golfers contribute towards the fight against cancer

All golfers are thanked for their participation in this special event for such a worthy cause

Last Saturday, June 28 the annual Sanlam Cancer Golf Challenge took place.
The format was an Ind Stab divided into three divisions.
Thanks must go to our local Sanlam agency, represented by Richard Ford, for providing all the prizes and other items that were auctioned off. A total amount of R4 820 was raised for the Cansa Foundation. The results were as follows : A Division – First – Wilfie Laatz – 41 points. Second – Bruce Laatz – 39 points. Third – Fred Vickers – 38 points. B Division – First – Sarfaraaz Khan – 40 points. Second – Roy Unsworth – 39 points (c/o). Third – Nils Dahl – 39 points. C Division – First – Mohammed Jhetam – 34 points. Second – Harry Koovarjee – 30 points. Third – Arnold Boettiger – 29 points. Special mention – Gail Boettiger – only lady and Matthew Dahl – only junior. Closest to pins – Vaughan Ric Hansen and Jeremy Brown. Two – Clubs – Nils Dahl and Grenville Moor on number three, Jeremy Brown on number 12 and Fred Vickers and Peter Wood on number 16. The winners of each division will progress to the next round to be played at the Princess Grant course.
All golfers are thanked for their participation in this special event for such a worthy cause. The Wednesday, June 25 comp was won by Vaughan and Robbie Wattrus with 48 points and the Friday six hole Ind comp by Vaughan with 12 points.
On Wednesday (today) will be a BBBS comp sponsored by the Club and then on Saturday, July 5 will be the Monthly Mug sponsored by Lalparsad Attorneys Inc., combined with the Ind Stab comp. Competitions to be diarised for July: – 19th – Bobby Goodoon’s 80th.
26th – Zulu Shield – Estcourt/Mooi River Challenge.
