Youngsters have fun at mini cricket practice

The children were divided into teams and matches were played to put the skills they had learned into practice

The little ones who have dreams of becoming the cricket superstars of tomorrow had a great time playing mini cricket at Settlers Park this morning (Saturday).

The knowledgeable coaches taught the children the practical skills of the gentleman’s game in the areas of batting, bowling and fielding technique. The children were divided into teams and matches were played to put the skills they had learned into practice. There was lots of cheering as runs were made and wickets fell.

It was a fun morning enjoyed by all the enthusiastic young boys and girls who attended. Mini cricket is held every Saturday morning at Settlers Park, and parents are encouraged to bring along their children to learn about cricket, make new friends and improve their social skills, all in a safe and secure environment.
