Local boxer needs your help to compete

Nomfundo Xaba is asking for support in order to perform impressively, since she will be fighting in her hometown and her coach is organising the tournament

As the ‘Rise of Women’ boxing tournament approaches, local female boxer Nomfundo Xaba from Loskop has expressed her worries that she might not be able to compete due to lack of sponsorship.

Early this year, the 26-year-old came forward and asked for donations or sponsorship. She pointed out the difficulties she was facing in continuing with boxing in Estcourt, saying that since she relocated to Estcourt from Ladysmith, she has found it difficult to train because there is no boxing gym.

Furthermore, she is struggling to acquire the proper kit so she can run as well as train in the gym.

Xaba is once again pleading with the community to help her compete in this upcoming women’s tournament. “I’m asking for funding because I want to prepare for the ‘Rise of Women’ tournament, which will be held on August 31 at the Oval Shopping Centre in Ladysmith. It will be organised by Sugar Boy Boxing Promotion and I fall under Sugar Boy Boxing Club,” said Xaba.

If anyone would like to help, they can call or WhatsApp her on 0739865946

She will accept any help – money or otherwise – even energy drinks, running kit, outfits, food and dietary items, as they compete according to weight.
