High-octane action as Newcastle Oval Track hosts clubs from four provinces

The atmosphere was festive with a Father Christmas taking to the track at the interval much to the delight of the little ones.

The Newcastle Oval Track Raceway wrapped up a successful 2023 of high octane action by hosting clubs from Idube Motorsport Park (Camperdown), Randfontein Oval, Platinum Raceway (Rustenburg) and Kroonstad Raceway who were here to do battle with our local racers.

Around 35 drivers took to the track in various categories for a full evening of entertainment for the large crowd that came out to support the action.

The Newcastle Raceway was congratulated by the visitors for the outstanding condition of the track – many thanks to Hendrik van der Merwe (once again) for all your hard work in preparing the raceway.

“A huge thank you to each and every one who helped, sponsored or contributed in any way big or small “Thank you to our families and friends and our spectators for your continuous support And mostly thank you to our drivers – you are the show,” said the club’s Zaakira Khan.

“As we break away for the holidays, sit back relax and gear up for we shall be back with a bang for the 2024 racing season.”
