It was a battle of note featuring Newcastle All Stars FC and Umkhambathini FC this past weekend in a ABC Motsepe League match played at the Arbor Park Sports Ground.
The first half ended goalless but a second-half goal from Tariq Whiteman confirmed victory over Umkhambathini.
This was followed by an own goal by an Umkhambathini player. Umkhambathini managed to score their first goal just before the end of the 90 minutes.
Umkhambathini tried to get back into the game but the Newcastle team defended well to hold onto their lead to secure a 2-1 victory.
